About
the SSAAA

What is the SSAAA?
Southeast Scottish
Amateur Athletics Association (SSAAA) is the largest
governing body for Scottish Heavy Athletics east of the Rockies.
Founded in 1995, our organization currently sanctions or provides
support for over twenty-five Scottish Games and Celtic Festivals in the
Southeastern United States. Our goals are (1) to offer support and
training for the amateur athlete, (2) to foster the relationship of the
athlete with his Clan and other aspects of the Games, and (3) to
provide news and information regarding amateur Highland Games
competition.
Southeast Scottish
Amateur Athletics Association provides safe and
official Scottish Heavy Athletics for host organizations that want the
highest quality athletic competition for their festivals. SSAAA
provides officials, equipment and publicity for every sanctioned Game.
Through our network of member athletes across the country, we can offer
any level of competition sought by the host organization from a
standard amateur meet to specialized team events. SSAAA's current
special events include The North-South Challenge Cup, Scotland vs USA
Team Challenge and The National Caber Challenge.
